What Indeed India is
Indeed is a job search site. In India the public site is in.indeed.com. Employers post roles, and Indeed also indexes jobs from career pages. You can search without an account. An account lets you save an Indeed Resume, set alerts, and use Apply where the employer has turned it on. A saved resume does not mean Indeed is your employer, and it does not mean a company will write back. InfoparkDaily is not affiliated with Indeed.
Create the account
- Open in.indeed.com.
- Sign in with an email you control, or with the Google or Apple option if you want one less password. Use the same email you use on your resume.
- Add your name and the city where you can interview. Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode should be typed as those cities, not only “Kerala”, when you want local roles.
- Confirm the email if Indeed asks. Job alerts go to that inbox.
Build the Indeed Resume
In the profile or resume section, add the work history, education, and skills you can defend. Upload the PDF you made in the resume builder as well, so the file a human downloads matches the fields on screen.
- Headline: role, skill, city. “Junior .NET developer · Kochi”.
- Work: company, title, dates, three bullets with a task and a result.
- Skills: the tools in the jobs you are applying for this month.
- Job preferences: the titles you will accept and the cities you will travel to. If you set “remote” only, you will hide on-site Infopark roles you might have wanted.
Indeed may show a completeness meter. Fill the gaps that are true. Do not add a fake employer to move the meter.
How to search
- Search a job title and a city. “Software tester Kochi”. “HR executive Trivandrum”.
- Filter by date. Past 14 days is a practical default. Older posts are often filled.
- Read the whole description and the company name. Some posts are written by agencies. The employer name should be visible before you share documents.
- Save two searches and turn on email alerts. Name them so you know which inbox mail belongs to which search.
- Ignore listings that ask you to pay a registration fee, buy a laptop from the recruiter, or share an OTP. That is not an Indeed rule. It is a scam using the site.
Apply on Indeed or on the company site
Indeed shows more than one apply path. “Apply now” on Indeed sends your Indeed Resume to the employer through Indeed. A button that leaves the site sends you to the company careers page. If the posting says to apply on the company site, do that and do not also submit the Indeed form for the same job.
Before you use Apply now, open the resume Indeed will send and fix it. The file you uploaded last month is the file they receive.
Keep a record: job title, company, date, and whether you used Indeed or the company site. When a caller says “we saw your Indeed application”, you can confirm which role.
Company pages and reviews
Indeed shows company pages and reviews. Read them as opinions, not as proof. A review does not tell you whether this week’s vacancy is real. For a Kerala park company, also check the official board on the career tools page: Infopark, Technopark, Cyberpark, UL CyberPark, or SmartCity, depending on the address in the post.
How Indeed differs from Naukri and LinkedIn
- Naukri is stronger as a resume database that Indian agency recruiters search. Indeed is stronger as a search box across many career pages.
- LinkedIn is where your public profile and your posts live, and where you can write to a named person.
- You do not need all three on day one. Pick the board the employer used. If the job is only on the company site, skip the portals and apply there.
A simple routine
- Monday: read the two alerts. Apply only where the skills match.
- When you learn a new tool you can explain, add it to the Indeed Resume and to Naukri and LinkedIn on the same day so the three do not drift apart.
- Once a month, delete saved searches you never open.
